Fergie’s toe-sucking ex blackmailed over naked internet snaps
ThE duchess of York’s friend John Bryan was famously photographed sucking her toes as she reclined topless by a pool in the South of France in 1992. Now details have emerged of a blackmail case involving a young Filipino woman who threatened to publish nude pictures of him online.
Unsavoury aspects of the 63-year-old’s private life were made public during his protracted court battle to extract a £1.6 million settlement from his ex-wife, beautiful Belgian reality TV star Astrid Coppens, whom he divorced in 2013.
As I disclosed last year, Los Angeles Judge Michael J. Convey ruled against Bryan’s claim ‘in its entirety’, noting that, despite claims of hardship, his income was £13,500-a-month.
Nevertheless, financial adviser Bryan — who was previously declared bankrupt at London’s high Court in 1996 — launched an appeal.
That appeal has now been dismissed. ‘The appeal has been rejected by the Court of Appeal,’ Astrid’s attorney, Keith Fink, tells me.
And Fink draws attention to an affidavit in which Bryan recounted meeting a young Filipino woman, Ancy dieto, online before he ‘physically met her’ in the Philippines. Bryan’s affidavit says he ‘supported Ancy with money to study business, to go to school, and to find business opportunities’.
But he stopped when she threatened to ‘post my nude pictures and videos online’. he alleges that when Ancy renewed her threats, he gave her $1,000, with which, she said, she was going to buy ‘a Sony VAIo X-series laptop’. ‘According to his papers — which he filed under the penalty of perjury — he’s broke,’ says Fink. ‘ ‘The guy’s a bully. he’s nothing without her. he unfairly took shots at her. Astrid fought back and creamed him in court and exposed him.’ Astrid, who was just 22 when she married Bryan, says that the stress of the case made sleep almost impossible and caused her to start losing her hair. But from Belgium, where she is on holiday with her second husband, director Bram Coppens, she tells me: ‘Everything’s going great.’ Bryan was unavailable for comment yesterday.
