ISNER PLAYS TRUMP CARD
JOHN ISNER won the battle of the big-hitters as he overpowered Milos Raonic to reach his first Wimbledon semi-final. The 6ft 10in American’s ruthless returning was decisive and he now awaits Donald Trump’s reply to an invitation for tomorrow’s last-four contest. Isner wants the US President, a huge tennis fan, to be on the Centre Court as his guest for what promises to be another battle of big serves against South African Kevin Anderson. Isner and Canadian Raonic began their quarter-final as the tournament’s two leading acemakers with 135 and 117 respectively. Raonic outgunned Isner on aces last night — 31 to 25 — but saw his service broken six times as No 9 seed Isner won 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 6-3.
