LAST week’s episode had the potential to divide Jamie and Claire for good; tonight, she is lost in a fever, under the care of Mother Hildegarde (Frances de la Tour). Assuming she recovers, how will she handle Jamie’s betrayal? This episode is a turning point for season two and features plenty of screen time for De la Tour.

THE Canadian-Irish comedian and presenter Katherine Ryan is John’s guest this week (both pictured), and she has plenty to talk about. Her parents split when she was 15, and her dad never spoke to her mum again, while she herself is a single mum who has faced two bouts of skin cancer.

DARK COMEDY Sick Note, 10pm, Sky One

SKY’S nightmaris­h black comedy picks up just after it left off at the end of last year’s first series, with a tension-soaked Daniel (Rupert Grint), who is faking that he has cancer, dealing with the arrival of a friend who could expose him. Meanwhile — more amusingly — his doctor (Nick Frost) tries to scale high society. Look out for the arrival of Lindsay Lohan (pictured with Frost and Grint) in part two.

PADDY CONSIDINE writes, directs and stars in this British drama as a brain-damaged boxer trying to piece his life back together. New Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker is superb as the wife trying to help him to remember.
