ALREADY rushed off her feet with housework, a job and three small children to look after, it was the last thing Emma Howes needed.
But, having taken a moment to catch up with a pile of laundry at home, the 24-yearold was confronted by the stuff of parents’ summer holiday nightmares.
After slipping out of their mother’s sight, little Hollie, four, and Evie, two, took just ten minutes to plaster paint all over the upstairs landing, bathroom, a bedroom – and even their baby sister Connie’s face.
On being confronted over the almighty mess, cheeky Hollie told Miss Howes: ‘I’m a rock star, Mummy.’
A video taken by Miss Howes shows the sight that greeted her after going upstairs to check on her children at the family home she shares with their father Rob Timms, 30, in Witney, Oxfordshire.
Tubes of children’s acrylic paint were smeared over the carpet and walls – with Hollie and Evie seen dancing in the bathtub with brown colouring splashed across the floor and sink.
She then turns into the bedroom shared by Hollie and 11-month-old Connie to find more paint over the door, cot and even the baby’s forehead.
Part-time customer service assistant Miss Howes said: ‘I literally had no words, I couldn’t speak. Honestly I could have cried.’
After battling for hours with the mess her children created last week, Miss Howes was forced to fork out £100 for a specialist cleaner – leaving the house looking ‘much better’.
Now she and construction worker Mr Timms can just about see the funny side – but they still have another two weeks to go until their terrible twosome return to nursery.
