THEIR acrimonious marriage break-up has played out in front of a worldwide audience. But now Ewan McGregor is engaged in another spat with his estranged wife over the amount of money he is paying to support her and their children.

According to court papers, the 47-yearold actor has been paying maintenance towards Eve Mavrakis, 52, and their four children despite not yet being ordered to do so.

Official papers revealed the couple, who were married for 22 years before announcing their separation last year, filed a joint document in their divorce acknowledging McGregor’s payments.

However, court documents have shown Miss Mavrakis believes the amount of money being provided by McGregor is less than it should have been. The papers show McGregor believes he is paying more than he is obliged to.

The Crieff-born Hollywood star has children Clara, 22, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 16, and seven-year-old Anouk with Eve. He filed for divorce from her in January.

The LA Superior Court documents say McGregor has been ‘voluntarily contributing to the living expenses’ of Miss Mavrakis and their children. However, he has stated he is paying more than he is obliged to, while she believes she has received less than she should have.

McGregor is dating Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 33, after going public with their romance in November. The relationship sparked controversy as the couple were spotted kissing in a London restaurant before he had announced his split from Miss Mavrakis.

After the split, McGregor’s oldest daughter Clara took to social media to accuse Miss Winstead of tearing her family apart.

She branded the actress a ‘piece of trash’ in an Instagram post, but later expressed regret over her comment.

In an interview published in August, she said: ‘There had been a lot building up to it and a lot to deal with, not to make excuses or anything, but, yeah, it wasn’t my finest moment. But I’m not afraid to speak out if I feel strongly about something.’

She added: ‘I kept being tagged in this photograph and I was seeing negative things about my mum.

‘I said how I felt and I didn’t want to apologise for it. It wasn’t the right way to go about things, but it’s a hard thing to wrap your head around when you feel you had this idea of what the family unit is and then to have that shift. It’s very weird.’

Clara and her sisters have rallied round to support their mother since the split.

Miss Mavrakis, who described her marriage breakdown as ‘disappointing and upsetting’, is understood to have welcomed Miss Winstead into their home in 2016 during filming for Fargo.

In the drama, Miss Winstead and McGregor play lovers.

She is alleged to have developed a ‘teenage crush’ on the Scottish actor.

McGregor and Miss Mavrakis met on the set of court drama Kavanagh QC, shortly before his role in Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting won him international acclaim.

As well as Trainspotting, McGregor is best known for his roles in the Star Wars films, Moulin Rouge and The Island.

Miss Winstead separated from her husband, writer Riley Stearns, last year.

Announcing the split, the pair shared a picture of themselves together on Instagram saying they would ‘always love each other’. Both have since deleted the picture.
