Shaken and stirred by £2.4m Bond car

- By James Salmon Transport Editor

PRINCESS Eugenie and new husband Jack Brooksbank left Windsor Castle in a 190mph James Bond Aston Martin worth up to £2.4million.

The bride looked suitably impressed when she saw the silver DB10 supercar – driven by Daniel Craig in the 2015 film Spectre – waiting for her.

She uttered ‘Wow!’ and was left openmouthed. Princess Beatrice helped her sister with her dress as she got into the car which was lent to the royal couple by a mystery owner.

Prince Andrew joked ‘No pressure!’ as his new son-in-law drove his daughter down the drive of Windsor Castle towards the evening reception at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

Eugenie’s parents, Andrew and ex-wife Sarah, and Beatrice followed close behind in a Rolls-Royce. Ten DB10s were built for the Spectre film at the carmaker’s headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Eight were driven in the film, while two are used for promotions.

Mr Brooksbank drove the Aston Martin, which can accelerate from 0-60mph in under five seconds, in a rather more sedate fashion than James Bond.

As it is only a production car it cannot be legally driven on public roads. It has no official price tag, but one of the ten DB10s sold at auction for £2.4million in 2016. Its 4.7 litre V8 petrol engine means it does not have the green credentials of the car chosen by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their wedding in May.

Harry drove his new bride in a £350,000 electric E-Type Jaguar.
