HER husband this week suggested it was ‘always hard work’ being married to her.
Perhaps the feeling is mutual, for a day after David Beckham spoke out, his fashion designer wife Victoria checked into an exclusive spa.
The couple have insisted all is well with their marriage despite rumours to the contrary in recent months.
But it seems Mrs Beckham, 44, is in need of some quality me-time, which she is currently taking at Villa Stephanie in Baden-Baden, Germany.
The former Spice Girl yesterday posted a series of photos from her visit on Instagram, telling her 23million followers she is having an ‘amazlittle ing experience’ at the spa, which specialises in ‘body and mind detoxes’. In one selfie, she poses while out hiking in a cap, sports top and trainers.
The visit – her second to the spa – comes just a day after former footballer David, 43, spoke about their ‘complicated’ 1 -year marriage.
In a preview clip for a TV interview to be shown in Australia on Sunday, he said: ‘To have been married for the amount of time we have, you know, it’s always hard work. It becomes a more complicated.’ Last month, Mrs Beckham revealed how she cried after checking in alone on a previous visit to Villa Stephanie.
The mother of four said she booked a flight home for the following day but later decided to stay. She told British Vogue: ‘When I first got there, I was really emotional. I sat on my bed and cried. I Skyped David and said, “What am I doing here?”
‘I’d never been away from the children unless it was a compulsory work trip. Even me and David never go away, just the two of us. We’re always present with the children.’
She settled in and enjoyed her visit, which included a regime of meditating, hiking, bike riding and ‘just being kind and looking after me’.
Her latest spa stay comes four months after the Beckhams – who married in 1 – denied ‘bizarre and embarrassing’ gossip that their marriage was over after speculation that they were getting divorced.
