LET’S HOPE FOR RICHIE RETURN

-

IT’S sad to think that Richie Gray — who had the potential to be one of the break-out stars of Scottish rugby — is fast becoming the forgotten man. Injury has curtailed his international career in recent years and after spending five years in France with Castres and Toulouse he has been out of sight, out of mind. That is a real shame as Gray (right) is world class and the sort of player who commands attention. Quiet and shy off the pitch, a bit like his brother Jonny, he hasn’t been one to seek the limelight. Doing his talking on the park has been fine for him. Let’s hope that he overcomes his latest hip problem that will keep him out for up to four months and he can do that again. Six foot, ten inch tall Gray could become a world-wide star if he plays for Scotland in the World Cup in Japan. Best wishes to him, then, in his fitness battle.
