Mail tracks down tycoon as he feels the heat in Arizona spa
HIKING through the hills of Arizona, this is Sir Philip Green pictured for the first time since he was named as the businessman at the centre of sex pest claims.
The tycoon jetted off to Tucson, Arizona, on Monday from Los Angeles, just before the explosive allegations of sexual harassment and racial abuse emerged.
Since then, Sir Philip, , is believed to have spent time relaxing at his £2.3million home within the grounds of a luxury health spa favoured by celebrities.
Last night the Daily Mail tracked down the Topshop owner to Canyon Ranch near Tucson, but he declined to respond to the allegations.
Sir Philip said: ‘This is a private property just leave. I would leave if I were you, security are coming.’
When asked to comment as he came off the tennis court in a golf buggy, he said: ‘Do you want to get arrested?’ The tycoon has previously told how he goes to Canoyn Ranch to unwind and ‘work out’ – eating healthily, playing tennis and spending three hours a day on a treadmill.
He has built his own home on the 150acre estate. It has nine bedrooms and a swimming pool and looks onto Willow Canyon and the grounds of the stunning Santa Catalina nature reserve.
Yesterday as a legal battle raged on, Sir Philip went walking at Seven Falls, a hiking trail minutes from his house, outside Canyon Ranch.
Although the resort is largely phone free, with a focus on disconnecting from the world and with allocated areas to make calls, Sir Philip was glued to his mobile as he walked through the nearby national park.
Dressed in a white T-shirt, running shorts and trainers, he walked for several hours, it is believed.
Previous guests at the spa have included Hollywood star Julia Roberts and US chat show host Oprah Winfrey.
In an interview in 2010, Sir Philip said of his stay at Canyon Ranch: ‘To have time, space. It was spectacular. There were blue skies, you’re walking and see mountains.
‘I had time to think in an open space and was in a completely different zone. I was going there to get healthy and do something I wanted to do, that I really need to make time for.’
The resort is all-inclusive with smoothies, healthy snacks and low calorie meals all on tap.
Alcohol is not available anywhere on site, but guests can go to stress management classes or get tips from nurses on how to improve their health.
