Tycoon’s pals deserting him

-

SEVERAL of Sir Philip Green’s A-list friends have distanced themselves from the tycoon in recent years, with Simon Cowell, Gwyneth Paltrow and Leonardo DiCaprio ‘no longer speaking’ to him.

Sir Philip made a habit of inviting top celebrities to his exotic parties. Oscarwinner Miss Paltrow and music mogul Cowell were both invited to his lavish 60th birthday party in Mexico.

Sources close to Cowell, 59, stressed that he has not spoken to the Topshop boss in three years. He is understood to have lost respect for him after the BHS pension crisis. He had enjoyed family holidays in Barbados with Sir Philip and even attended his son’s three-day bar mitzvah in 2005, rumoured to have cost £4million. A representative for Miss Paltrow, 46, who accused shamed Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, insisted she has not ‘seen or spoken to Philip Green in many years’.

He also said the actress was not a ‘current friend’. Titanic actor DiCaprio, 43, was flown by private jet to Mexico by Sir Philip for the 60th birthday bash, but now also has no dealings with him. However, the same cannot be said for supermodels including Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Naomi Campbell.

When contacted by the Daily Mail about Sir Philip all failed to provide a response. Supermodel Miss Moss, 44 – often seen as the tycoon’s muse – was silent about the allegations as she arrived at Heathrow airport yesterday.

Sir Philip has attended dozens of shows and parties with Miss Campbell, 48.

Miss Delevingne, 26, has fronted Topshop campaigns and is regularly seen with the businessman at events.
