Take it easy: Sir Rod puts his feet up with his wife Penny in LA HE might still have some impressive moves on the stage, but Sir Rod Stewart currently needs a little help getting around town.

The Scots rocker, 7 , has been using a knee walker scooter to navigate the streets of Los Angeles ever since injuring his foot during a game of football last month.

Sir Rod was seen enjoying a takeaway coffee with his wife, Penny Lancaster, during a day out in Bel Air on Sunday, still sporting a brace on his right foot.

But rather than hobble around, it seems the music legend has invested in a motorised scooter, complete with elevated foot rest.

Earlier this month the father of eight disclosed that he had suffered the painful injury after falling on a ‘great, big lump of concrete’ while having a kick around with sons Alastair, 12, and Aiden, seven.

Speaking on The One Show, the Celtic fan said: ‘I was kicking around, I bought the boys an AstroTurf pitch because I don’t play much any more. But we were playing the other day and I ran in the nettles to get the ball and trod on a great, big lump of concrete and this is what happened.’

He added: ‘It’s only a precautionary measure and I’ll be fine in a couple of days.’

But three weeks later, it seems the singing star is still suffering and has yet to have his foot brace removed.

Sir Rod, who recently reached number one in the UK album charts for his latest album, Blood Red Roses, recently disclosed that he has always relied on the women in his life to feed him and has never cooked a single dish himself.

‘I cannot cook to save my life. The last time I tried to make a boiled egg, I had about 20 pans and things out of the cupboard. What a mess. Nothing to be proud of,’ he told Rolling Stone magazine.
