SIr oSWALD MoSLEy (1896-1980). The founder of the British Union of Fascists served as an MP first for the Conservatives, then as an Independent, and finally for Labour. Two days after the ‘Battle of Cable Street’ — when thousands of Londoners stopped his Blackshirts marching through the East End — he married Diana Mitford at the home of Nazi propaganda chief Joseph goebbels, with Adolf Hitler as special guest. CHArLES ‘DAWS’ BUTLEr (1916-1988). The American actor provided the voices of dozens of cartoon characters, including yogi Bear (right), Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw Mcgraw and Barney rubble in The Flintstones. Butler started out competing in amateur competitions, performing impersonations of President Franklin roosevelt, singer rudy Vallee and a car starting up.
