Labour’s anti-Semitic sewer is overf lowing

-

AS predictably as night follows day, Labour’s sewer of anti-Semitism plumbs new depths.

On this occasion, Jeremy Corbyn’s Jewhating acolytes are targeting Luciana Berger, intent on purging the party of those who deviate from Marxist socialism. The Jewish MP has been a prominent critic of the Labour leader’s disgusting failure to eradicate the scourge of antiSemitism from the ranks.

No surprise, then, to learn that the Corbynite rabble-rouser attempting to oust her from her Liverpool seat, a distasteful fanatic called Kenneth Campbell, abused her on Facebook as a ‘disruptive Zionist’.

Is the leadership appalled at this vile behaviour? Don’t believe it. Indeed, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell pointed the finger of blame squarely at Miss Berger, egging on the hard-Left hate mob with a nod and a wink. Inadvertently letting his mask slip, he issued the sinister warning that she should pledge allegiance – or face the axe. What an utterly shameful state of affairs. As the Mail reveals today, a portfolio of 4,000 examples of anti-Jewish malevolence collected from Labour supporters’ social media accounts has been handed to party chiefs. Expecting action? Don’t hold your breath.

The consequences of Labour’s refusal to deal with this pernicious problem were laid bare this week in a report revealing attacks on Jewish targets had hit record levels.

But as long as Mr Corbyn shamefully cheerleads for his terrorist ‘friends’ in Hamas and Hezbollah, his hard-Left disciples will feel emboldened to dish out the most horrendous bile.

On being elected Labour leader, he promised to embrace a ‘kinder, gentler’ politics. As Miss Berger continues to be hounded for standing up to anti-Semitism, how depressingly hollow those words ring.
