BUY YOUR OWN VALENTINE!

- EMILY MONCKTON

THE heart print has had an upgrade — and just in time for Valentine’s Day. The motif, usually deemed sicklysweet, has gone from cringe to couture. Designers such as Alessandra Rich and Gucci proved love is all around us by filling their catwalks with splashes of the kitsch pattern. And the High Street has followed suit with ‘Love’ slogan jumpers and pink dresses with red trimmings. Try teaming girly accessories with masculine silhouettes — a heart-print neckerchief with an androgynous blazer, for example. The key is to make your outfit look effortless. This Thursday, don’t be afraid to stand out. Be brave and wear your heart on your sleeve. And shoes. And bag.
