Were pupils right to go on strike over climate change fears?
THE aims of the children who went on strike over climate change are laudable. When they walk or cycle to school instead of being driven by their parents, and our streets and playing fields are devoid of litter, they will know they’ve had an effect. D. EXCUSE the cynicism, but the children’s marches against global warming must surely raise the eyebrows of even the most committed green activists. The rehearsed and identical quotes and responses involved appeared almost cultist in nature. Of course, within the law, we in the UK are entitled to protest as we see fit. RATHER than backing the climate change strike by pupils, headteachers should have used that time to teach the environmentally aware little darlings that litter goes in a bin.
