BARGAIN OF THE WEEK: Tesco Finest Pecorino, £6 (normally £7), Tesco. A FAVOURITE, more so when it’s on offer. Made from the Pecorino grape (it’s not just a cheese name), this perky white is from Italy’s Abruzzo region. Fresh and lemony with a hint of peach and pear, it’s fantastic value. ROSE WINE: Modarosa Rosé, 2017, £7, M&S. NEW to M&S is a blooming lovely rosé from the Veneto region in northern Italy. Made mostly from the Merlot grape with a dash of local speciality Corvina, it’s crisp and light with a hint of strawberri­es. Refreshing and deliciousl­y moreish.

FOOD PAIRING: Tapas. RED WINE: Botham The All Rounder Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, £7.99, Waitrose. YOU don’t have to be a cricket fan to enjoy this Australian red, even if the man behind it is Sir Ian Botham. Juicy and smooth with blackberry fruit flavours, smooth tannins and a kick of spice, it’s made from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape. An all-rounder. FOOD PAIRING: Margherita pizza. SPARKLING WINE: The Adnams Selection Rosé Champagne, £25.99, Adnams. THIS outrageous­ly pink champagne adds instant colour pop and the flavours are just as bright, with gorgeous redcurrant fruits and a touch of toastiness. Made exclusivel­y for Adnams.
