concentrat­ion camps in a way that children can understand — and there’s an element of simplifica­tion that can feel inappropri­ate. But the juvenile actors (including Amber Beattie and Asa Butterfiel­d, pictured with Vera Farmiga) do good work and, in the end, the horror remains.

BRAM STOKER’S vampire gets a warrior makeover in this action-led origin story.
