Meghan’s Vogue: is it inspiring or irritating?

-

JAN MOIR hit the nail on the head about the Duchess of Sussex’s guest editorship of Vogue. This Duchess who wants to break down barriers can’t even heal divisions within her own family. If she wanted to put across her message, whatever that may be, she should have picked a publication that more people could afford. She should also not forget that the British people are subsidising her privileged lifestyle and in these days of austerity we demand value for money, not just when it suits her. CATHERINE BROWN,

Helston, Cornwall. MEGHAN obviously does not think that any plain women are influential. SANDRA PARSONS, Keston, Kent. I AM enthralled with what the Duchess of Sussex has published in Vogue. My daughter has three boys, two of whom have special needs, and it has taken her a long time to screw up the courage to divorce her abusive husband. She’s had a hard life, has lost her self-esteem, puts her children first at all times and in the process has neglected herself. She needs help to show her that she can improve her well being and regain self-confidence. Meghan shows that women who have been in her position are not alone and can improve their lives.

name supplied, Bushey, Herts. THE one person the Duchess of Sussex should surely have included in her list of icons is Elizabeth II. Since the beginning of her long reign, the Queen has inspired people all around the world. The love and admiration for her continues unabated. Perhaps the Duke of Sussex should have indicated the omission to his wife. P. SENIOR, Lowestoft, Suffolk. OF MEGHAN’S Super Sixteen, I only recognised two — or three if you count the mirror picture. Is it me with the problem?

ROGER I. SHENTON, York.
