NEW KIDS’ COMEDY The Rubbish World Of Dave Spud, 4.30pm, CITV

NEW British kids’ shows on CITV are few and far between, so this series about the misadventures of a fun-seeking northern family is to be applauded. The voice cast includes Johnny Vegas, Philip Glenister and Jane Horrocks. (Freeview 203, Freesat 602, Sky 621, Virgin 734)

CARTOON FUN Taffy/Mighty Mike, 4.30pm/5.30pm, Boomerang

TAFFY is a raccoon who pretends to be a cat, and this zany, Looney Tunes-style series is about him trying to keep that secret. Today’s other new show follows the slapstick antics of pug Mike, who doesn’t speak —and is all the sweeter as a result. (Sky 603, Virgin 730)

REAL LIVES Girls On Girls, BBC3 (via iPlayer)

GILDED YOUTH Made In Chelsea, 9pm, E4

LOVE is all around as this reality soap begins its new, 18th series, especially for Maeva, who has kissed both James and Miles, and is having difficulty choosing between the two. Miles has other options — he’s part of another romantic triangle that involves Freddie and his French date, Jade — and it all gets even more complicated later on.

FREEVIEW MOVIE The Manchurian Candidate, 9pm, Sony Movie Channel

JONATHAN DEMME’S clever update of John Frankenheimer’s eerie sci-fi tale, based on the novel by Richard Condon. Here, Denzel Washington is the Gulf War veteran hailed as a hero, but not really sure that he is. (Freeview 32, Freesat 302, Sky 321, Virgin 425)

NEW YORK JUSTICE Copper, 10pm, Alibi

IT’S been available on demand before, but this is the first time the spit-andsawdust drama has been on TV.
