STRAIGHT TO THE POINT

-

I SWITCHED to a new tariff with Together Energy in January and was £362 in credit. I was told I’d receive a refund, but, despite chasing, I’ve never had my money back.

J. R., Leeds. tOgether energy says refunds are issued automatically only if you are leaving the provider. it says it has a record of your request for a refund and admits that, in error, this was not acted upon. After a meter reading, your credit dropped to £292.30.

the firm has apologised and given back your money, plus £25 as a goodwill gesture. I DISAGREE with the maintenance fees my leasehold managing agent is trying to charge me. Can I complain to anyone? N. O., Manchester. COMPLAin to your managing agent and follow their procedure. if you are not happy with their response, or they have not replied within eight weeks, contact the Property Ombudsman. Call 01722 333306 or download its complaint forms online at tpos.co.uk/ consumers/completing-the-complaints-form WHILE checking my bank statements, I noticed I’m paying Amazon £7.99 a month. I rang, but was told I don’t have an account. So why is it still taking my cash? K. J., Cromer, Norfolk. YOu do have an Amazon account and, in January 2018, you inadvertently signed up for Amazon Prime membership at £7.99 a month. Amazon didn’t know this when you called, as you gave your husband’s details. since you have never used Prime, Amazon has cancelled it and issued a full refund. I TOOK my car to Finland and suffered a stroke while there. My RAC breakdown policy covered repatriating the vehicle, but I was told this would take six weeks.

So, when safe, I insisted on driving it back. The RAC said it would pay me £2,000, but I thought I’d be able to claim more on top, for expenses such as new flights. B. P., Lancashire. the rAC says the £2,000 it offered was to cover expenses and expected you to provide receipts. some of the things for which you wanted to claim simply weren’t reasonable, such as a husky dog ride.

it has now kindly offered to reimburse you up to £2,355 to cover your diesel, ferry and air fares, as long as you send it the receipts.
