Liberal with democracy
WE live in trying times, where our democracy is being pulled in all directions.
a Supreme Court challenge, a Prime Minister’s proroguing of Parliament, a labour leader who leads his party in name only — and then there are the liberal democrats!
She talked about Boris Johnson in dictatorship terms, yet Jo Swinson the liberal democrat leader, dictates she would reverse Brexit by revoking its very existence.
Chuck in a labour crossover, to the tune of a scorned man, then you have all the ingredients for a party of delinquents against our democracy.
Former leader nick Clegg once said in 2013 that people who wanted Britain to leave the EU were ‘unpatriotic’! yet when push came to shove Mr Clegg took up a post with Facebook, a company he vilified while an MP, and left Britain for america for a substantial sum of money, to become head of global policy and communications.

Jo Swinson’s bubble, for me at least, has been punctured.
when she burst on the scene with fresh ideas and an honest approach I was much impressed.
Her unequivocal approach to nationalism in Scotland was refreshing and much needed. another attraction was the undisguised extreme dislike the SnP felt for her — she was daring to actually challenge them.
yet, for the life of me, even as a Remainer, I cannot see what is liberal or democratic about simply negating the votes of the 17million who chose to leave the EU. It may hurt, I know, but we cannot ignore the message.
I am now back to pondering what is best to beat the nationalists.
