Cara’s mum to reveal all about her heroin hell

-

SOCIETY stylist Pandora Delevingne, mother of top models Cara and Poppy, has criticised Britain’s ‘horrific’ treatment of drug addicts as she plans to publish her memoir about her own heroin addiction next year.

‘It’s a hardcore, straight-talking autobiography about a young girl who got into drugs and how she got out the other side,’ Pandora tells me. ‘I’m writing to help people.

‘This country isn’t doing enough to help people with drug addictions. It’s horrific.’

The 60-year-old wife of property developer Charles, with whom she has a third daughter, Chloe, adds it will feature her family, but she will not go into detail about her glamorous party days.

The former personal shopper at Selfridges, who is a one-time friend of Princess Margaret and who has advised the Duchess of Cambridge on her outfits, adds: ‘Of course there will be things about my children and my husband, but there’s no social stuff like: “I went to a party given by this person, and I met that person.” ’

‘I started the first Narcotics Anonymous meeting in London in 1982 and there were three of us there — then it sprouted. Young people were looking for something and they had nothing; they all fell in love with this idea that they could possibly get better if they stuck together and did certain things.

‘It was the most exciting days of my life — I’ve never had anything like it since. It’s so important to support people with addiction and give them a community.

‘With the book, there’s a certain amount of it being cathartic, but it is mainly to say this happened to me and this is the way to get out.

‘The title, Shadows On My Wall, came about when I was lying in bed and there was an old mirror, not a very good one, and I thought: “That’s me: a broken mirror that’s not very good.” ’
