Spend a night with Alice... then go crackers at Cheese Fest
ART, music, comedy, food... whatever you are looking for, the North-East can deliver.
The multi-million-pound, 15,000capacity P&J Live complex in Aberdeen, which opened in August, will be hosting a series of exciting events in the coming months.
Tomorrow and on Sunday, gamers, developers and brands will gather for 4TG Game Con, one of the biggest gaming events in Scotland.
There will be fun for all the family, including retro games, an arcade and a children’s zone. Meanwhile, legendary shock rocker Alice Cooper will take to the stage at P&J Live tomorrow night as part of his Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back tour. Special guests will be The Stranglers and MC50, featuring Wayne Kramer. On October 19 the venue hosts the Big 90s Festival, with a lineup including Phats & Small. Also on October 19 is Cheese Fest UK, which features artisan traders, demonstrations and live music. The event will be celebrating Wallace and Gromit, so expect themed activities and surprises involving the cheese-loving duo.
Elsewhere, Aberdeen Art Gallery will reopen on November 2, while the Music Hall is hosting acts from Aberdeen International Comedy Festival. You can see Daniel Sloss there tomorrow, Jimeoin on October 13 and Jim Smith on October 14.
Also performing as part of the festival are Paul Foot, at the Lemon Tree, and Craig Hill, at the Tivoli Theatre. Both comics’ shows take place tomorrow.
Outside the city, don’t miss the Castle Trail – taking in 19 of the most famous forts in Scotland – and follow the scenic Coastal Trail, perfect preparation for next year’s Scottish Year of Coasts and Waters.
