‘Obsessed’ homeless man stalked Harry Styles after pop star gave him sandwiches

HARRY Styles says he sleeps with his bedroom door locked after being stalked by a homeless man he once tried to help.

The singer told a court he had been left feeling scared by the man’s ‘erratic and frightening behaviour’.

Styles, 25, said he had bought sandwiches for Pablo Tarazaga-Orero after he spotted him sleeping rough near his £3million north London home.

But he explained how he became ‘incredibly uncomfortable’ when the homeless man posted notes through his letter box, followed him to the pub and even ‘lunged’ at him in the street when he went for a run.

He told magistrates yesterday: ‘I’ve employed a night guard which I’ve never felt necessary before. I continue to lock my bedroom at night, I find myself assessing my residence and any weak spots.’

Speaking about his first encounter with Tarazaga-Orero in March he said: ‘Pablo was sleeping outside of my residence. I thought it was sad that someone so young was sleeping rough at a bus stop when it was cold.’

The One Direction singer said he had offered the Spaniard money for a hotel or food, then bought him sandwiches and salads the next day. But following an ‘odd’ incident when Tarazaga-Orero, 26, asked him if he wanted to go to a restaurant, Styles said he decided to stop interacting with him.

Despite cutting contact, Styles said he continued to see Tarazaga-Orero ‘incredibly often ... almost every day’. Prosecutor Katie Weiss told Hendon Magistrates’ Court the star now lives in fear of other fixated fans. TarazagaOrero denied one count of stalking between April and June, claiming Styles had offered him money to ‘have some fun’ in a hotel. Mr Styles denied this took place.

District Judge Nigel Deane said he found the charge of stalking proven. Tarazaga-Orero will be sentenced at the court next Monday.
