BE OUR GUEST

-

ALMOST every McCarthy & Stone development around the country has a ‘secret’ added extra that helps make residents’ lives better. It’s a guest suite, where friends or family can stay for as little as £25 a night. It gives you all the pleasure of having a visitor: with none of the laundry or tidying up!

Better still, residents can ring house managers around the country and book themselves into the suites as well. It’s perfect if you fancy a mini-break – or a maxi-break, if you follow in the footsteps of intrepid McCarthy & Stone resident Sylvie and her partner, Bradley. She lives in the Paxton Court development in Tenby, Wales. The couple wanted to explore the UK, reliving old memories and meeting up with as many old friends and family as possible. And there was no stopping them, once they realised there was a guest suite almost everywhere they wanted to go.

After doing some serious planning, the pair set out from their home in Tenby, Pembrokeshire and drove up the west coast of Wales and England, right up north to John O’Groats, then back down the east coast to Sussex and along the South Coast back to home. In total, they drove an extraordinary 2,532 miles – staying in 15 McCarthy & Stone guest suites over 19 nights and having the time of their lives!

‘The house managers at every development were so very welcoming and helpful – and it felt like a home from home,’ says Sylvie. ‘The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. They had everything you could need, yet were all very unique.’ And, as guests can join residents in the shared areas, the pair say they made new friends everywhere. Now the couple are safely home, Sylvie has some simple advice for other McCarthy & Stone residents. ‘Don’t let these wonderful guest suites sit there and go to waste. You’ll be surprised what a wonderful holiday they can be!’
