Is it now the right time for the Government to scrap the TV licence fee?

A BBC spokesman said the licence fee ‘ensures a universal BBC which serves everyone’. That has not been the case for some years. The BBC does not serve those with Conservative views and, over the years, it has held anti-British views on a range of issues. The BBC serves only those with Left-leaning tendencies, thus leaving out a vast number of people who have to pay the tax (licence fee), but who are not represented on the airwaves.

I am delighted Boris is minded to abolish the TV licence, which funds the Biased Broadcasting Corporation. It is unfair, outdated and, if not paid, can lead to the penalty of jail time. I thought debtors’ prisons had been abolished long ago.

INSTEAD of the TV licence fee, add a small sum to everyone’s broadband bill and mobile service with data. Like adding road tax to the cost of fuel, it would mean the greatest users would pay a little more than single

person households. Whether you watched iPlayer, Netflix or live TV, you would still be contributing — plus the likes of BT, Sky, O2 and Talk Talk would do the revenue collecting.

THE BBC’S Left-wing bias and anti-brexit stance is bad enough at the best of times. but during the General election campaign it was not only against the principles on which the BBC was founded, but also a disgrace. I’d have thought even the champagne socialists who run the BBC should have seen the disaster a Corbyn government would have brought to this country. the BBC is not fit for purpose and must make its own way. If it falls, so be it.

I HATE the BBC for its insidious bias and overpaid staff, who peddle their own views instead of the facts. The BBC used to be a refuge from the advertising breaks of commercial stations, but now it has its own self-promoting trailers.

I THINK the BBC should be paying us to watch! on Saturday, there were 16 repeats on BBC2 and on Sunday 15. the TV licence should be abolished and the BBC should stop paying a ridiculous salary to Gary Lineker.

BORIS JOHNSON’S plan would ensure the BBC produced programmes that people wanted to watch, rather than pandering to the arty, pretentious prats who produce vanity shows.

WHY should I have to pay the BBC £154.50 each year? the corporation no longer reflects my views and values, yet I am required by law to hand over money for the licence fee — even if I watch only other channels. If I fail to do so, I will be prosecuted for watching live screenings by other broadcasters of soccer, rugby, cricket and golf. the situation is ludicrous. boris should not only take away the right to make us criminals, but scrap the licence fee altogether. Let the BBC enter the marketplace to fight for its share of our money, not be handed it as a right.
