THIS IS WHAT 69 LOOKS LIKE
BRenDa KinSella lives in manchester with her husband Roger. they have two sons, martin, 38, and edward, 33. She is a clinic manager.
NIGHT-TIME CLEANSER
I DON’T wash my face in the morning! I find that it leaves my skin feeling too tight. However, I do use Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (£13.17, boots.com) to remove my make-up before bed. I first tried it when my niece came to stay and left one at our house. Before this, I used Eve Lom Cleanser (£55, lookfantastic.com), which was also good, but much more expensive.
REVERSE RETIREMENT
I USED to work at Shell, until I was 30 — and gave it up for 25 years, to have children. Then, in my mid-50s, I started work at my son Martin’s medical clinic, three days a week. It has given me a whole new purpose. I love it, especially the social side, as I’m meeting new people all the time. I don’t plan on retiring any time soon!
MIDLIFE LIBIDO BOOST
FIVE years ago I went on bioidenticals — a natural form of hormone replacement therapy. Although I’d already gone through the menopause, it has made a huge difference to my energy levels, helped with thinning hair, even boosted my libido. I feel like my younger self again.
TWO-STEP GLOW
ONCE a month, I get a Hydrafacial (£140, hydrafacial.co.uk). It’s a 40minute cleansing treatment, which uses a suction device to remove impurities. Then, during the day, I apply Skin Matrix Instant Protect Tinted Cream SPF 50 (£16.67,
skinmatrix.co.uk), for a sheer, dewy coverage.
FILLER & BOTOX
IN MY LATE 50s, I started getting Botox to smooth the lines between my brows and around my eyes, every six months (£350). It has made a huge difference. Now, I also get a type of filler in my jaw and temples, to stimulate collagen production. It’s expensive (from £800, ellanse.com), but the results last for up to four years. These tweakments have really boosted my confidence. n re-enhance.com
