Grinning in the rain – look who’s back to say goodbye
Meghan and Harry’s brief return to UK
NOT even the weather could wipe the smiles off the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s faces last night.
Meghan joined her husband to make her first public appearance in the UK since the couple announced they would quit as working royals.
Arriving to cheering crowds, the pair put on a confident display as they made their way into London’s Mansion House for the annual Endeavour Fund Awards in one of their final engagements as senior royals.
The duchess, glamorous in a £950 vibrant blue Victoria Beckham dress and navy Manolo Blahnik heels, beamed as she sheltered from the pouring rain under an umbrella with Harry.
The couple, who left baby Archie at home in Canada, attended the ceremony to honour the achievements of

wounded and sick servicemen and women in sporting and adventure challenges. Harry, who has been made to give up his official patronages, is allowed to keep private links with organisations such as the Endeavour Fund, of which he is patron.
Meghan presented the Celebrating Excellence award, telling the audience: ‘It’s very nice to be back.’
At a reception, Harry and Meghan spoke to Claire Spencer, 52, whose husband won the award.
She complimented Meghan, 38, on how amazing she looks after having Archie, saying afterwards: ‘[Meghan] said, “Oh yes, well he is ten months now and is into everything”.’
Harry and Meghan will attend a handful of engagements this weekend before returning to Canada ahead of their official departure on March 31.
