Is Boris the right Prime Minister for a crisis?

-

We SHOULD be grateful that we have Boris Johnson at the helm with his attitude of the buck stopping with him, but delegating to ministers and experts. Just imagine how other politicians would have coped. let us all get behind Boris and listen to what he and his wise men say, and ignore the attentionseeking carpers.

JOHN FINLAY, Mayfield, E. Sussex.

AFTER days of having to come out at 5pm to brief waiting journalists about the dangers of coronavirus, Boris Johnson looked like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders. But he has regained his mojo with his tough message about the importance of social distancing and self-isolation for all. I have faith in Boris and his team — we have to, who else have we got? Imagine if it was Theresa May dealing with the virus or, even worse, Jeremy Corbyn.

ASHLEY SMITH, March, Cambs.

BORIS is a bumbler. Poor on critical detail, practised at avoiding difficult, searching questions. Too often he relies on generalities that are puzzlingly contradictory.

M. HUGHES, Kenilworth, Warks.

WHAT is this nonsense about Boris being a bumbling buffoon? The Prime Minister is displaying statesman qualities. Well done, sir.

L. A. THOMAS, Southampton.

HOW can Jeremy Corbyn criticise Boris Johnson in the middle of a world health crisis? The Prime Minister not only gives confidence to the public, but is making important decisions to keep this country going and looking ahead to its economic future. Watching the daily updates by Boris gives me confidence that the right things are being done. He is showing Churchill-style leadership through these darkest days.

D. HOBBS, South Ockendon, Essex.
