Chancellor Spendthrift

-

WILL someone please stop the Chancellor throwing taxpayers’ money around like confetti?

His ideological view that there will be a bounce-back, after spending billions of borrowed money furloughing workers and supporting firms with loans, will not happen.

there will be a gradual return to normality, but that will not justify the massive debt incurred.

Coupled with this massive debt will be a great loss of taxation income, leaving treasury coffers bare.

If rishi Sunak continues to play Santa Claus, he will bankrupt the economy beyond repair. When the day of reckoning comes and austerity measures begin to bite with reduced services, increased taxation and local authorities desperately short of funding, will the Chancellor be the one dealing with the crisis?

As a millionaire, he may very well not be affected, but the rest of us will suffer financially for years to come.

Name and address supplied. to All the Covid-19 whingers pressing the Government for an exit plan, complaining they can’t book a holiday, go to the hairdresser, get their nails done, buy a burger or go to the pub or a restaurant, please take a reality check.

With several hundred deaths a day and a second peak feared in the autumn, the Government will ease the lockdown when it’s safe to do so and not before.

Maybe they could also spare a thought for the thousands who have lost their lives and their families.

Is visiting a garden centre really that important?
