THE return of this glossy Canadian drama about an elite dance troupe, which is styled as if it were a reality show, with frequent cut-aways so we can hear what the characters are thinking. Here, Piper (Alexandra Chaves) finds things awkward with Finn, despite her best efforts.

BENEATH THE WAVES Shipwreck Secrets, 8pm, Yesterday

MORE than 5,000 shipwrecks lie off the coast of Florida. In this first of an intriguing new series, Michael C. Barnette investigat­es one of them, an unknown vessel that could originally have vanished in the Bermuda Triangle, and appears to be a 20th-century steel freighter.

THERE are clues to our planet’s past at the poles, and palaeontol­ogist Kirk Johnson has the enviable job of wandering these epic landscapes to tell us about them. Geological­ly speaking, ice at the poles is fairly recent — once, the Antarctic was home to dinosaurs and rainforest­s.

THE based-on-truth story of sexual harassment at Fox News has a first-rate cast including Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie. The story was also given the TV treatment in The Loudest Voice (on Sky/Now TV).

AIMING HIGH Climbing Blind, 9pm, BBC4

JESSE DUFTON (pictured with wife and climbing partner Molly Thompson) has no sight beyond vague impression­s of light and dark and, in this new one-off, he attempts to climb the Old Man of Hoy, a 449ft sea stack in the Orkneys. It looks like madness, but Jesse seems so calm about it all that the film is

surprising­ly easy to watch.

TOUGH DETECTIVE Stumptown, 9pm, Alibi

OFFBEAT private eye Dex (Marvel’s Cobie Smulders, pictured) is back on the offensive in this week’s new episode, which is the best place for her. She’s determined to get the best of Artie Banks, and the chess game that ensues between them begins, in typical Dex style, with her smashing the daylights out of his beloved Mustang with a baseball bat.

STAR VIEWERS Celebrity Gogglebox USA, 9pm, E4

ROB LOWE is among the stars reacting to TV shows for this new American take on Gogglebox (called Celebrity Watch Party in the U.S.). It was filmed recently, and also features the singer Meghan Trainor, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and the actress Raven-Symone.

The Bouncer, 10.10pm, Sky Premiere

THIS Brussels-set thriller stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, back on his home turf, as the veteran tough guy and bouncer trying to keep his nose clean while raising his daughter.

AUSTRALIAN DRAMA The Daughter, 11.45pm, Film4

A REWORKING of Henrik Ibsen’s play The Wild Duck, a story of family and friends whose worlds are about to be blown apart. Paul Schneider tops the impressive strong cast as the recovering alcoholic returning home for the marriage of his father (Geoffrey Rush, pictured with Schneider).
