Real Madrid and Barcelona legend Gheorghe is regarded as the greatest Romanian footballer of all time. Now all his attention will be on the developmen­t of son Ianis who is determined to make his mark following his permanent transfer from Genk to Rangers under boss Steven Gerrard.

KENNY & PAUL DALGLISH

Father needs no introducti­on. Former Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland striker conquered Europe’s biggest stages and remains the most capped Scotland player of all time. A tough act to follow for son Paul, who is currently president and general manager at Miami FC after a playing career in Britain and the USA.

PETER & KASPER SCHMEICHEL

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter was a key part of the glory years under Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, both domestical­ly and in Europe. Son Kasper has proven just as influentia­l for Leicester, picking up the gloves from his dad and remarkably winning Premier League title with the Foxes in 2016.

BRIAN & NIGEL CLOUGH

Two-time European Cup winner at Nottingham Forest, the late Brian remains one of THE legends of English football. Son Nigel was brave enough to follow his illustriou­s dad into management. A former player at Forest, Liverpool, Manchester City and Burton Albion, he stepped down as boss of the latter earlier this month.

FRANK LAMPARD SENIOR & JUNIOR

The former made 670 appearance­s for West Ham, while his son enjoyed success over 13 years at Chelsea. He is their all-time top scorer with 211 goals and made 648 appearance­s. Capped 106 times for England and is now boss at Stamford Bridge.

JOHAN & JORDI CRUYFF

Dutch superstar Johan won multiple titles at Ajax and Barcelona while serving as player and manager. He was a three-time Ballon d’Or winner. Son is a former Barcelona and Manchester United star, winning the league title while at Old Trafford in 1996-97. Currently head coach of Ecuador.

YOURI & OAN DJORKAEFF

Father was a World Cup winner with France in 1998 and also triumphed at Euro 2000. His midfielder son has struggled to step out of his father’s giant shadow. Joined Premiershi­p St Mirren last summer on a one-year deal.
