SOMETHING strange is in the air in this grounded and inventive sci-fi thriller set in Fifties America. It’s especially reminiscent of The Twilight Zone at the start.

WITH the cinemas still closed, film critic Mark Kermode and broadcaster Simon Mayo turn their eyes to the small screen for this lively series. Tonight, they review the new Netflix comedy Space Force and the Amazon film The Vast Of Night (see above).

THE boxer Muhammad Ali had great chemistry with the U.S. talk show host Dick Cavett, and appeared on his show many times. That footage, along with recollections from Cavett, is the undoubted highlight of an otherwise middling film. (Sky 114)
MYSTERY REPORTS Nasa’s Unexplained Files, 9pm, Quest
THE return of the series that asks such questions as ‘When aliens invade, what can you do to help?’, but gets across some interesting science, too. Tonight, we hear about an asteroid named after the Celtic god of death, and a leak on the International Space Station.
MUSIC REVOLUTION Rock ’n’ Roll America, 9.30pm, BBC4
FIRST of a three-part cultural history of rock and roll, the birth of which shook Fifties America to the core. Part one looks at the ‘arrival’ of teenagers, an emerging group ready to adopt a new sound — which had its origins in New Orleans and the music of Fats Domino and others.
STAR’S KITCHEN Amy Schumer Learns To Cook, 10pm, Food Network
THE comedian Amy Schumer is married to the chef Chris Fischer (pictured) and, for this lockdownshot series, he is teaching her how to cook. She has no trouble mixing drinks to go with the food, though — Schumer spent nearly a decade tending a bar in Manhattan.
