Our fabulous Great Summer Treasure Hunt is back for a second week. This virtual quest takes you on a tour of Britain to hunt for clues behind our nation’s magnificent heritage. Thousands of our readers cracked the first week’s clues and sent in their entries yesterday. This morning, one lucky entrant received the first of our £10,000 prizes.

Today, we start again with another brilliant Treasure Hunt around famous stately homes and country houses. And at the end of it all, another £10,000 to be won this week.

The Daily Mail’s fabulous Treasure Hunt started last Saturday and runs for four weeks. Each week, one lucky reader will win £10,000. Plus, each correct entry every week will be entered into a prize draw to win an extra £10,000. That’s a total of £50,000 that must be won!

Solve the riddles using skill and logic, together with your knowledge of Britain’s history and heritage, and the second of four treasure troves could be yours.

This year’s Treasure Hunt will take you on a tour of Britain — from the comfort of your armchair. Last week, we explored tourist attractions. This week, the answers will all be related to famous uK country houses and stately homes. (Look out for cathedral cities and summer sporting venues, the themes for weeks three and four.)

All you have to do each week is solve a series of clues or riddles, the answers to which will be linked to that week’s theme.

EAcH of the four weekly Treasure Hunts begins with a glorious artwork in Saturday’s Daily Mail. Hidden within it are a number of letters that will give you your first answer. Today’s illustration is opposite, depicting a busy afternoon at a country house, and this week’s first answer is a well-known British stately home. crack today’s clue and write it in the box provided below.

The hunt will then take you around the country through a series of clues printed each Monday to Friday in the paper. Solve the riddle each day and write the answer in the box provided in that day’s paper. Keep your answers and then, after you’ve solved the final clue next Friday, write all six answers in the grid provided in that day’s Daily Mail.

The letters highlighted in the grid will form an anagram — unscramble it and you will have the final answer. This year, each week’s final answer is an iconic Briton. If you think you’ve worked out the solution on Friday, call the hotline, text or email (details of which will be in Friday’s paper) and leave your answer and personal details.

The lucky winner will be drawn at random. If it’s you, we’ll call you between 9am and 11am on Saturday, July 25. If you don’t win, the challenge begins again next Saturday — and you never know what you might find at the end of the rainbow!
