THE joyful image on the opposite page is of a busy summer’s afternoon at a British country house. Guests of all ages are listening to music, enjoying a picnic and playing games at the fete or larking about in punts on the lake.

The letters are hidden in the picture, but here’s a teaser with extra clues . . .

While lions and tigers round

its safari park roam, A Marchioness who went on Strictly

calls this place home.

STEP 1:

Look all around the picture and see if you can spot the eight individual letters that have been cleverly inserted into the scene.

STEP 2:

Keep note of the individual letters as you find them.

STEP 3:

Once you’ve spotted all eight, unscramble them to spell out the name of an English country house or stately home. Write your answer in the grid below, leaving no spaces. If you’re stuck for the solution to today’s clue, call our Solution Line on 0901 293 6280. Calls cost £1 plus your usual network access charge.

Starting on Monday and all next week in the Daily Mail, we will print five more clues in the form of verse riddles, the answers to which are all other famous country houses.

Write each answer down and when you’ve got all six on Friday, write the answers in the grid provided in that day’s Daily Mail. Then unscramble the highlighted letters on the grid to reveal the second week’s solution. Call, text or email next Friday (details of which will be in that day’s paper) and leave your answer and your personal details. The lucky Week Two winner will be drawn at random, and we’ll call them between 9am and 11am on Saturday, July 25.
