Should jihadi bride be allowed back into the UK?

-

DON’T the Court of Appeal judges have any idea of the threat to our nation? They have ruled that Isis bride Shamima Begum should be allowed to return here to fight the decision to remove her British citizenship. Why must we allow someone who was legitimately excluded from our shores, thanks to the common sense of the former Home Secretary Savid Javid, to come back?

P. A. MARKUS, Holsworthy, Devon.

I AM not surprised by the weakness of the judiciary. Shamima Begum was 15 when she ran away to Syria to join Isis — she was old enough to understand what she was doing. Knowing the pathetic views of the Establishment, if she wins her case, taxpayers will have to support her for the rest of her life. She will be given a new identity, home and plenty of money to live happily ever after at our expense. Get a grip, Priti Patel. As Home Secretary, you need to ensure lawyers can’t walk all over you.

IAN FULLER, Harrogate, N. Yorks.

NOW that Shamima Begum is likely to return to the UK after supporting ISIS for years, how about the judges who come up with these crackpot ideas take such people into their homes and look after them until any court cases take place? If the judges are frightened to do that, why can’t various members of political parties who support these decisions take it in turns to accept suspects under the same conditions – to fully financially support them, house them etc?

ANNE FoRRESt, Largs, Ayrshire. THE Home Office withdrew Shamima Begum’s British passport on security grounds. When will the judicial system act on behalf of the law-abiding citizens of this country?
