AFTER my easyJet flights were cancelled, I accepted a voucher to use next year. The flights in 2021 are cheaper, so can I ask for the difference in cash?

You cannot get a partial cash refund, but you can put any remaining credit towards another easyJet flight.

I WAS a carer to my husband before he died and received £67.25 a week from the Government. How long do these payments continue?

Carer’s allowance can continue for up to eight weeks after the death of the person who was being cared for, if you fulfil the other criteria. This includes not being in full-time education and not earning more than £128 a week. If you think your payments were unfairly stopped, you can appeal at gov.uk/mandatoryreconsideration online.

I WAS made redundant in April but my notice pay has had National Insurance contributions deducted from it, despite me being of pensionable age.

The Insolvency Service has told me I will have to wait until April 2021 before I can claim any back. That’s £469 of my money.

The Insolvency service does not have access to individual tax codes and so, sometimes, deducts National Insurance contributions when a claimant might not be liable to pay. It says anyone who has overpaid will be refunded via HMRC by the end of the tax year.

MY WIFE bought me a £17.24 workshop manual, but I already had it so she returned it. The publisher, Haynes, says that it never arrived, and we no longer have proof of postage.
