Are Lady Swire’s diaries a scandal or a hoot?

-

SIMON WALTERS’S review of Diary Of An MP’s Wife made my day (Mail). Sasha Swire has given us an insight into politics and celebrities in an amusing way that doesn’t beat around the bush. Thank you, Daily Mail, for keeping me smiling.

MARIETA PIRC, London EC2.

IN THIS Covid-ridden, wokeobsessed world, Sasha Swire’s outrageously hilarious diary is like rainfall on arid land. Wonderfully descriptive as she pricks pomposity, she makes the political class sound like Carry On Cabinet. Well done for cheering us up when we’re desperately in need of a good giggle.

JEFF POTTER, Yateley, Hants.

NO DOUBT Sasha Swire considers her diaries to be frightfully witty. However, they expose her as a spiteful piece of work. I hope she enjoys the exclusive company of her poor husband as I’m sure everyone else will now steer well clear of her.

VAL ANNE LEE, Alresford, Hants.

I BET Sasha Swire’s father, former Defence Secretary Sir John Nott, is delighted with her behaviour and book — Nott.

Mrs SHARON WATERS, London N14.

HAVING read extracts, I fear Sasha Swire is anything but a lady. The words common, vulgar and attention-seeking spring to mind.

Mrs H. WILLIAMS, Bulkington, Warks.

MY MOTHER taught me that if you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all. Only when you are perfect can you criticise others. Please take note, Lady Swire.

LINDA SHAW, Heathfield, E. Sussex.

I QUESTION Lady Swire’s claim that David Cameron once made reference to her ‘scent’. A gentleman of his breeding would surely know the correct word is perfume.

LIZ PAGE, Christchurch, Dorset.
