What can and can’t be done, where and who is affected
TIER ONE
PEOPLE are allowed to meet either indoors or outdoors in groups of no more than six.
Shops, gyms and personal care services, such as hairdressers are all open.
Pubs can open only if they serve substantial meals. Alcohol can be served with meals.
Spectator sports can resume with a crowd of 50 per cent of capacity, or 4,000 spectators, whichever is smaller.
TIER TWO
PEOPLE living in Tier 2 areas are banned from socialising indoors with anyone they do not live with, or who is not in their support bubble. People can meet in a group of up to six outside.
Shops, gyms and personal care services, such as hairdressers are all open.
Pubs can open only if they serve substantial meals. Alcohol can be served with meals.
Sports can resume with up to 2,000 spectators, or 50 per cent capacity (whichever is smaller)
Places of worship are open, with weddings and outdoor sports allowed.
Non-essential foreign travel is allowed, although people are advised not to travel to and from Tier 3 areas.
TIER THREE
PEOPLE are banned from socialising indoors, or in private gardens and pub gardens with anyone they do not live with, or who is not in their support bubble.
People can meet in a group of up to six in other outdoor spaces, such as parks.
Pubs, cafes and restaurants must close, except for delivery and takeaway.
Indoor entertainment venues – such as bowling alleys and cinemas – must close.
