A PREGNANT woman miscarried after she was kicked in the stomach by a mugger as he snatched her iPhone.

The victim was waiting at a bus stop and chatting to her mother on the phone when the thug cycled towards her and attacked her in broad daylight.

Without saying a word, he kicked the woman, who was nine weeks pregnant, and grabbed her iPhone X before speeding away. A short time afterwards, the victim had a miscarriage. Police have begun a manhunt for the mugger and appealed for witnesses.

Detective Constable James Pepperell, of Scotland Yard’s East Area Burglary and Robbery Investigation Team, said the attack had ‘caused much heartache and pain to the victim and her family’.

He added: ‘This is a particularly sad case that has had life-changing consequences for the victim.’

The robbery took place in Cambridge Park in near Wanstead tube station in east London, at around 2.30pm on July 29.

The suspect was mixed race, around 30, of a stocky build and with tattoos over his left arm. He wore dark blue shorts, a dark blue cap and was carrying a white bag.
