THEME TUNES The Sound Of TV With Neil Brand, 9pm, BBC4

AT SCHOOL, Neil Brand used to play the theme from The Persuaders! on the piano at lunchtime. It drew a considerab­le audience, and his new series seems destined to bring him the same, dealing with the stories behind such evocative themes as Coronation Street and Z-Cars.

GERMAN CRIME Nordic Murders, 9pm, More4

A MOTHER is released from prison for the murder of her husband, then forms a prickly investigat­ive duo with her daughter (Lisa Maria Potthoff) in this new German drama. Well-acted by both, it has its surprising moments — listen out for Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up in the supermarke­t.

SINGER’S STORY Selena: The Series, Netflix

IN 1997, Jennifer Lopez starred in Selena, about the wildly successful U.S. singer Selena Quintanill­a-Perez, who was gunned down aged 23. Netflix’s soaring drama is a longer treatment of Selena’s life, starting with her sweet early years and starring Christian Serratos (pictured).

SPORTS CAR The Lost Corvette, 9pm, Blaze

THIRTY years after the first model launched, the 1983 Corvette didn’t see the light of day because of U.S. regulation­s.
