VITAL STATISTICS

SINGLE for two years, no children.

CURRENT ROLE

EDUCATION charity worker.

WOULD LIKE TO MEET

A CONFIDENT man who can look after himself and has a sense of humour. I can be shy, so I’d like it if he could take the lead without being too pushy.

DATING PAST?

the longest relationship I’ve had lasted for four months. I’ve never been in love and I think my friends, who are all settled down, worry about me. But the truth is I’d prefer to be on my own than with the wrong person.

I tried online dating this year, but it shocked me how so many guys were prepared to break lockdown rules and meet up after just a few days of chatting.

PRE-DATE NERVES?

YeS. and unfortunately I had a food shop booked to arrive right in the middle of the date.

I decided to wear a teal blouse so my date could see me on camera.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

We had a funny ‘ hello, hello?’ introduction while we both waited to be connected. ali wore a smart shirt. Straight away I could tell that he’s a funny guy — we were laughing from the first minute.

EASY TO TALK TO?

We talked about the soap operas we like and found that we’re both emmerdale fans. also we both want to travel when Covid is under control, enjoy musicals and have done a bit of dancing and acting. ali made me laugh when he spoke about hating stage make-up.

I live with my mum so discreetly sent her a text each time I needed a prosecco top-up. She promised not to interrupt!

EMBARRASSING MOMENTS?

no, none. But we did have to cancel our first date because ali had a bereavement in the family. I sent him my condolences and I’m glad I waited until he felt ready to date again.

DID SPARKS FLY?

I thInk so. I’d like to explore things a bit more with ali. We spoke for two hours and, when we wrapped things up, it felt natural to suggest that we exchange numbers. We’ve messaged one another since.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET IN PERSON?

YeS, it’s a shame that we couldn’t meet in person in the first place. But a virtual date was a nice way to get to know one another.

WHAT DO YOU THINK HE THOUGHT OF YOU?

I don’t know! he did text me afterwards to say he had enjoyed the date.

WOULD YOUR FRIENDS LIKE HIM?

YeS, they would l i ke ali. My friends would like anyone who makes me happy.

YVETTE’S VERDICT: 7/10

LIKED? Ali is easy to talk to. REGRETS? None. SEE HIM AGAIN? It would be nice to see Ali again.
