WHeN you’ve been stuck at home with your beloved for months on end, things can go a little bit stale in the bedroom.
But the women of Britain, it seems, are refusing to let boredom and boxsets put the lid on passion.
The maker of a ‘female viagra’ launched before the first lockdown has told how sales have soared as women look to add a spark to their relationships during the pandemic.
elissa Corrigan’s supplement uses a blend of five botanical substances said to improve libido and mood, increase sexual arousal and boost energy.
The 35-year-old, who appeared on Bear Grylls’s survival show Treasure island, created elle sera – French for ‘she will be’ – after five years running retreats for women who were unhappy with their health and appearance.
The pill contains natural maca extract, tribulus terrestris extract, siberian ginseng, ginkgo leaf and beetroot.
Taking elle sera is a much more glamorous affair than knocking back one of those blue viagra pills.
The empowerment pill – as it is also known – is bright gold and comes in a bespoke brassware container if you buy the £150 starter pack. even the box is said to have its own therapeutic properties as the metal apparently helps with ‘immunity and detoxing’.
Miss Corrigan said sales shot up 400 per cent in the latest lockdown. ‘you would think that with couples being stuck at home, with not much to do, their sex lives would be rocking,’ she said. ‘But no. people have got too comfortable watching Netflix. They have lost desire, energy and all motivation.
‘Add in the fact that everyone is lazing around in pyjamas and joggers... it’s no wonder we are feeling less attractive. Men have viagra – but what do women have to make us feel sexier? When you feel sexier and flirtier from the inside, your whole mindset changes.’
