WHAT TO WEAR THIS WEEKEND

LEOPARD PRINT

- By Camilla Ridley-Day

WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

Trends may come and go, but there’s one perennial print that just keeps on giving — leopard. It’s a classic wardrobe staple only rivalled by florals, and if every day is feeling like the last right now, get out of those neutrals and slip into this print — I guarantee it will give your mood a much-needed boost.

STYLE-MAKER FAVOURITE

supermodel Kate moss knows all about the timeless appeal of leopard — it’s a print she always revisits. last year she even donated her favourite vintage coat to raise money for the fight against Covid.

designer roberto Cavalli is another fan, and never produces a collection without it, while danish brand Ganni’s leopard-print dress has become a seasonal must-have for fashion influencers everywhere. The print is always a showstopper at events and, lockdown aside, is rarely off the red carpet.

COLOUR CRAZE

BaCK in the 1990s, for a post a-level party, I wore a matching shirt and flares, a la scary spice, which is probably a bit too zig-azig-ah for 2021.

Today I prefer colourful prints, such as this shirt from mint Velvet. It’s a fresh twist on the trend, and perfect teamed with denim or corduroy basics. It makes me feel energised, even when I’m working from the sofa.

PERFECT PIECES

leopard is always bold and will make a statement however you wear it. look for a different base tone, such as dea Kudibal’s shirt (below) in an eye-catching electric blue. essentiel antwerp’s rainbow top is sure to brighten up your day (or someone else’s), and Figleaves’s swimsuit will have you dreaming of summer.
