Vogue salutes a wave of British talent
AWARDS season in Hollywood means just one thing this year – the British are coming!
And now Kate winslet, Anya Taylor-Joy, riz Ahmed and Tom Holland have been photographed for Vogue’s 2021 Hollywood portfolio of the year’s 27 biggest stars.
Miss winslet, who plays 19th century palaeontologist Mary Anning in the soon to be released Ammonite, posed in a £3,320 wool coat from The row while standing in a choppy sea. The landscape mirrors the stark settings of the Lyme regis coastline where the film is set.
Miss winslet has previously revealed that she decided to go ‘method’ for the period drama and lived alone in a ‘cold and rattly’ seaside property during filming.
The Oscar-winning actress, 45, told the magazine that her Hollywood icon is actress Jodie Foster because she is ‘always entirely, authentically true to herself’, while her crush is Australian actor Guy Pearce. she said: ‘I was in love with him from the age of 11. we share the same birthday.’

spider-Man star Holland, 24, who has caused a stir with his performance as a marine turned drug addict in his new film Cherry, posed for the Vogue shoot in Louis Vuitton trousers and a shirt while blowing bubblegum.
Fellow Briton Ahmed, 38, who has been nominated for the Golden Globes, screen Actors Guild and Bafta awards for sound Of Metal, about a drummer who starts to lose his hearing, posed in a cream Givenchy wool suit. He said the advice that he would give to his younger self is that ‘you’re meant to be here’.
Miss Taylor-Joy, 24, who won a Golden Globe for her role in The Queen’s Gambit, posed wearing a £13,190 embellished silk-georgette Gucci dress while sitting on a pavement and resting her head on her hand.
The feature will be in April’s British Vogue, available online and in shops from tomorrow.
