CAN you place the following architectu­rally significan­t events in chronologi­cal order? The ten events span the 12th to the 21st centuries. Each century starts with the year ending ‘1’ and ends with the year ending ‘0’ (i.e. AD1101 – AD1200) and no two events occurred within the same century.

F THE fifth Mughal emperor of India commission­s the Red Fort in Delhi. Its design is credited to the architect also responsibl­e for the Taj Mahal.

G AFTER Edward I conquers Wales, a series of fortificat­ions including Caernarfon Castle are built to defend against a rebellion.

H WORK begins to carve the heads of four former U.S. Presidents into the granite face of Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.

I CARDINAL Thomas Wolsey transforms Hampton Court into a grand palace for himself, but is later forced to give it to Henry VIII.

J THE Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, is toppled by an earthquake.
