Mullen and Co won’t let heads drop
CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND-UP
DANNY MULLEN insists DUNDEE will not allow Saturday’s disappointing 1-1 home draw with
MORTON to dent their confidence ahead of another key clash at Dunfermline tomorrow night. Dundee dominated for large spells but toiled to carve out clear-cut opportunities and looked to have paid the price when Aidan Nesbitt netted with a late sucker punch. However, home centre-half Lee Ashcroft pounced in the 88th minute to secure a draw, with Dundee then feeling aggrieved when they had last-gasp Declan McDaid ‘winner’ chalked off for a foul by Osman Sow. Mullen said: ‘We were on a good run there with the three wins and now a draw. We probably should have had the three points but it wasn’t to be. ‘Games are coming thick and fast so we have to be ready. We are going to Dunfermline with a plan and hopefully get the win.’ Elsewhere, a double from Dan Armstrong was only enough to earn second-placed RAITH ROVERS a point against ARBROATH. The hosts were cruising thanks to Armstrong’s brace, but goals from Jack Hamilton and Ricky Little rescued a 2-2 draw for the Lichties, who are eight points clear of bottom side Alloa.
DUNFERMLINE failed to move back into the play-off spots after drawing 1-1 at AYR UNITED. Declan McManus nodded home a Ewan Henderson cross to give the visitors an early lead — but 12 minutes later, Michael Miller slid in for an equaliser.
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH striker Nikolay Todorov scored against his old club as INVERNESS rescued a point. Aidan Fitzpatrick slotted Queen of the South into a secondhalf lead. However, Todorov headed home to earn a draw.
