Shield’s festive feel-good film shot north of the Border set for Netflix debut next month
SMILING up at the heavens amid a flurry of festive snow, Brooke Shields could easily be in New York or a glamorous Colorado ski resort.
In fact, the actress was in Scotland to film her latest movie for video streaming service Netflix.
Titled A Castle for Christmas, she plays an American author named Sophie who arrives in the country looking to buy her own stately pile.
But when she finds her dream castle, its prickly owner Myles – played by The Princess Bride’s Cary Elwes – is reluctant to sell to a foreigner.
Another image released by the production company shows Miss Shields riding a bicycle in the castle grounds.
The star seemed to enjoy her time in Scotland last year, and even took the opportunity to go shopping while filming scenes in South Queensferry.
The 55-year-old visited the Joyce Paton fashion boutique while taking a break from filming and posed for a photograph outside the shop.
Miss Shields indulged in more retail therapy in the town, popping in to buy items from antique shop Sea Kist during her downtime.
With many towns and villages missing income from tourists last year because of the pandemic, the visit by the A-lister was a welcome boost for the struggling local high street.
Sea Kist owner Jenni Meldrum described Miss Shields as ‘a lovely lady who has a great eye for antiques’.
She added: ‘She had a good look around the shop while we chatted. It was fantastic to see her in South Queensferry. I hope she will visit us again.’
A Castle for Christmas begins streaming on Netflix on November 26.
