Illegal ‘white privilege’ classes rife

- By Neil Sears

CHILDREN are being taught that white people are inherently privileged – and police forces were founded to control the working class and immigrants.

The claims are in a dossier sent to the UK Education Secretary, days after he insisted ‘contested theories’ such as ‘white privilege’ should only feature in lessons with appropriate balance.

Nadhim Zahawi had been responding to a claim from the Commons education committee that an obsession with racism would add to the neglect of struggling white working-class pupils. The dossier, sent to Mr

Zahawi by pressure group the Free Speech Union (FSU), says teachers across the country are routinely spending lesson time encouraging radical views about white racism. There is evidence from 15 schools.

Journalist Toby Young, general secretary of the FSU, suggested teaching white privilege was illegal as it breached the Education Act, which prohibits political indoctrination in the classroom.

White privilege is understood as the everyday benefit white people are said to enjoy over other ethnicities due to systemic racism. But white children on free school meals are at the bottom of the league tables for achieving high grades at exams and going on to university.

Among the schools mentioned in the dossier was the Chestnut Grove Academy in Balham, south London. According to the FSU, pupils were prompted to conclude that the police were inherently racist.

Mr Young said: ‘Judging from how many parents have contacted the Free Speech Union to raise the alarm about political bias in schools, it’s a huge problem. We’ve documented this in 15 schools, but that’s the tip of the iceberg.’
