the tale of a boy who defeats two hapless burglars with homemade booby-traps has been a favourite Christmas film for 30 years.

now home Alone has been remade as home sweet home Alone, with British actor Archie yates replacing Macaulay Culkin in the lead role.

the 12-year-old plays a new character called Max Mercer who is accidentally left behind by his family when they fly to tokyo.

A trailer shows married crooks Jeff and Pam Fritzovski, played by Rob delaney and ellie Kemper, falling foul of Max’s attempts to stop them stealing a Mercer family heirloom.

delaney, 44, is seen falling over while dressed as santa, shot in the head with a pool ball and bouncing off of a broken trampoline and into a tree. Miss Kemper, 41, falls on a floor covered in Lego before coming face to face with exploding bottles of cola.

Archie made his acting debut as yorki in 2019 comedy drama Jojo

Rabbit, which starred scarlett Johansson as the mother of a boy in the hitler youth.

Born to parents Julie and Anthony in edenbridge, Kent, Archie took up acting classes aged four and was still at primary school when he landed the role in Jojo Rabbit.

he told the screen Rant entertainment website: ‘the home Alone reboot is a very, very nerve-racking and yet exciting topic for me because I feel like this is the thing that’s going to make me become big in acting platforms.’

home sweet home Alone is released on disney+ on november 12.

the original 1990 film followed Culkin as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister who sets elaborate booby-traps to outwit burglars the Wet Bandits, played by Joe Pesci and daniel stern.
